The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has begun preparations to gradually shift land administration services
The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has begun preparations to gradually shift land administration services—currently provided through land reform, land revenue, and survey offices—to local governments.
For this purpose, the ministry has invited interested local levels to express their willingness to operate these services, along with the required human resources and infrastructure. According to the ministry’s letter, local governments must submit their intent within the specified timeframe.
The process of receiving applications from various municipalities is currently ongoing. Bharatpur Metropolitan City of Chitwan has already expressed its interest in providing land administration services.
The ministry stated that expressions of interest from other local levels are also being received, and the process of expanding service delivery will continue in the coming days.
