Energy Minister Meets China and India Envoys

Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha held separate meetings on Friday with Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chang Maoming and Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava, focusing on strengthening cooperation in the energy and water resources sectors.

During the meeting with the Chinese envoy, both sides discussed enhancing practical collaboration based on mutual interests, with special emphasis on addressing regional energy challenges more effectively. They also expressed commitment to advancing cooperation in energy and water resources as key areas for shared prosperity and public benefit.

Similarly, in talks with the Indian ambassador, discussions centered on expanding bilateral cooperation in energy and water resources. Both sides highlighted the importance of further strengthening the long-standing Nepal–India partnership, promoting sustainable development, and enhancing regional connectivity.

According to the Ministry, there was a shared commitment to continue dialogue and collaboration in the coming days to further deepen bilateral ties
